Inclusive Sports Programme

Whilst it was originally designed for people with severe physical disabilities, the sport is proving popular amongst many other people too. There has been an increasing number of people playing in places such as schools, day care centres and residential care homes.

FINS is part of our Swimming Academy and is available to children and young people aged between 5-19 who have a disability.

Sharks is a disability club open to all ages and abilities. Currently all our players are 14yrs+ and adults with learning disabilities but we are keen to include younger people and participants with sensory and physical disabilities.

A new session added to the disability sports programme. Individuals can learn routines, but also create their own style of dance that suits their ability level.

People who have mobility problems can come to any of the Peterborough Adapted Cycling Scheme (PACS) sessions and try out a range of specially adapted bikes, with both qualified cycling coaches and experienced disabled cyclists on hand to offer help and support.

We offer target archery to suit a range of abilities and needs. Our qualified archery leaders adapt the equipment and delivery style to enable participants to reach their potential.

Boccia is a Paralympic sport belonging to the same family as bowls. It’s particularly suited to people with severe impairments, but is open to everyone with carers and family members welcome.

Inspire Peterborough and Vivacity Disability Sports has launched a three year programme of inclusive sports with partners Special Olympics Swimming Group, Hunts Cricket Board Ltd, YMCA Cambs & Peterborough and Wednesday PHAB Club.

We take safeguarding of children, young people and adults very seriously, ensuring staff and volunteers have appropriate training and checks prior to them working on our programmes.
